6x Mandatory Practical Course

in group training for the canton of Zurich

TRAINING LOCATIONS IN ZURICH & SURROUNDING AREA

The practical courses are always held at locations in and around Zurich that are suitable for you.
so that you can receive optimal care and don't have to travel too far.

Please refer to the timetable on the website for the days and times.

We will inform you in good time about the exact location of the training. (Address + directions)

Generally, our courses also take place in busy locations (for anxious dogs, we adapt the environment accordingly) so that our dogs are not just space heroes, but are made fit for everyday life.

CERTIFICATE FOR THE CANTON OF ZURICH

After completing the course, we will issue you the official confirmation for your community & Amicus.

All dog breeds in the Canton of Zurich have been required to complete a total of 6 hours of practical training, as well as a theory course with an exam, since June 1, 2025. We are happy to help you if you are unsure how many hours you need to complete if you got your dog before June 1, 2025.

COURSE CONTENT

In this course, we'll cover all the fundamentals of dog training and practice important everyday situations together. We'll show you how to teach your dog basic obedience while having lots of fun. The dogs will learn to work side-by-side with focus and concentration, without playing together. You'll also learn to read and understand canine body language, and we'll improve your teamwork. Our puppy/training course (also suitable for older dogs) includes the following:

1) Promoting bonding and relationships
2) Recognizing and understanding the dog's body language
3) Enabling dog owners to provide basic training for their dogs
5) Humane and safe handling even in challenging situations
6) Teaching methods for getting used to wearing a muzzle

PLEASE NOTE: if your dog barks non-stop during the course

Should your dog be unable to concentrate in the presence of other dogs during a group class, and this manifests as excessive barking, disrupting the lesson for the other participants, we reserve the right to end the lesson for that participant and ask them to complete the course in private lessons. This will incur additional costs, as private lessons are more expensive. Furthermore, the partially completed group lesson will unfortunately be charged. The reason for this is that we want to create a calm and conducive learning environment for all participants in the group classes. Your dog can also benefit from private lessons because the barking problem can be specifically addressed and treated. Depending on how well the participant and their dog implement what they have learned, there is usually no reason why the participant cannot return to a group class, provided the dog no longer barks excessively. Please understand that this is the best course of action for all participants. Thank you.

MISSED THE CLASS - WHAT TO DO?

Don't worry if you miss a class because the course content is repeated; you can always join in or catch up on anything you missed. We also review previously learned material and the most important points so that everyone understands them.

We look forward to seeing you.
