Mandatory Basic Dog Training Course – Canton of Zurich With us, you can complete the mandatory practical training courses required by the Canton of Zurich. Below you’ll find all the important information. TRAINING LOCATIONS Our practical group courses take place at carefully selected locations throughout Zurich, chosen to suit you and your dog. This ensures optimal supervision and short travel distances. Please refer to the timetable on our website for exact weekdays and course times. After booking, you will receive detailed directions with all relevant links, as well as a packing list. Our courses are generally held in lively, real-life environments. For sensitive or anxious dogs, we adapt the surroundings accordingly. This approach ensures dogs are not just “training ground heroes” but are well prepared for everyday life. CERTIFICATE FOR THE CANTON OF ZURICH After successfully completing the course, we will issue the official confirmation required by your municipality. A total of 6 training hours is required to obtain the practical course certificate. PLEASE NOTE: Excessive Barking During Group Classes If a dog is unable to concentrate in the presence of other dogs and continuously disrupts the group through excessive barking, we reserve the right to terminate the session for that participant. In such cases, we kindly ask the owner to continue the course in private training sessions instead. COURSE CONTENT In this course, we cover all key foundations of dog training and practice essential everyday situations together. You will learn how to teach basic obedience to your dog in a fun and positive way. Additionally, you will learn to read and understand canine body language, and we will strengthen your teamwork and communication as a dog–human team. Our practical courses (also suitable for older dogs and small breeds) follow the official guidelines of the Canton of Zurich and cover the following topics: 1. Building and strengthening the bond and relationship 2. Recognizing and understanding canine body language 3. Empowering dog owners to provide basic training 4. Safe and appropriate handling, even in challenging situations 5.Teaching methods for muzzle training and habituation MISSED A SESSION? NO PROBLEM If you happen to miss a session, don’t worry. Since course content is repeated, you can join at any time or review missed topics. Previously learned material and key concepts are regularly revisited to ensure everyone keeps up. See you soon.
